The Drying Conveyor is an essential piece of equipment used in the lithium battery recycling process. Its primary function is to dry used batteries after the discharging and washing cycles. Proper drying ensures that the batteries remain free from moisture, which is critical to avoid operational issues in subsequent stages such as crushing, grinding, and screening.
Moist batteries are prone to sticking and clumping, which can lead to operational inefficiencies, equipment damage, and inconsistent results. The drying conveyor utilizes a combination of heat transfer and airflow dynamics to ensure uniform evaporation of moisture, preventing these issues.
The conveyor is designed to operate with hot air generated through various fuel sources, including:
- Liquid Fuels: LDO (Light Diesel Oil), diesel, natural gas, or LPG.
- Solid Fuels: Briquettes, wood, or coal.
The generated hot air is transported to the conveyor, which is a belt system enclosed within a sealed box. This minimizes heat loss and maintains the required temperature for efficient drying. The steel wire mesh belt securely transports batteries while maximizing the airflow and heat exchange to dry the battery surfaces evenly.
